The last couple of days the wind has been terrible out here. Wind speeds over 100K can do a lot of damage. In the below two pictures you will see that the wind moved the horse trailer! The horse trailer was parked over beside the fence where the tall trees are. It did have blocks under the tongue as well as around the wheels. The wind managed to push it well past the gate! The top picture is taken from a side view. The trees on the right are beside the fence the trailer is supposed to be parked beside. The bottom picture is taken from the fence it is supposed to be beside. You can see the blocks on the ground where the trailer was parked, and the top of the fence wire.
Below you will see the damage the wind did to a straw stack. The stack was covered with a tarp. In the picture below you can see the stack is now uncovered and is missing four bales from the top left hand side. The tarp is now located between the stack and the stooks. If you look closer you will see 4 bales on the ground to the right of the picture. The stook was already missing its top bale as I had removed it the previous day.
The picture below shows the four bales. Three are easy to see but the forth is hidden a bit as it appears to be part of the stook beside it. Notice the bale beside the fence post.
Below the now broken fence post. Broken at ground level from the force of the straw bale hitting it.
Tarp damage on other stacks also occurred. Looks like we need to buy more tarps. Sad thing is these tarps were all new!
YIKES....That's pretty scary. They were forecasting those winds for Red Deer on Saturday, but so far they haven't prevailed. Glad none of the animals or people were harmed in the making of that wind storm ;)
