Shedding has begun!!

Spring shedding has finally gotten underway!

Crowded Lamb Creep

When a bunch of lambs want the creep feeder at the same time it can sure become a crowded place!

When a little black lamb...

When a little black lamb (Ebony) curls up to sleep with her white haired mother.. and mum is wet from a light spring rain... the little shed out white hairs sure do show up on little Ebony.

Halter Training!

Here is 83Y a lovely purebred Ram Lamb. He is learning all about the halter and is doing very well so far. His Mum is 5U and Dad is Buster. He has a lovely hair coat that shines. He knows he is a ram and chases the ladies already. He will be weaned at 10 weeks to get him away from the ladies. Here he is 7 weeks old and growing very fast. He is a twin.
We also have our bottle lambs (future front lawn mowers). Here is picture of Pebbles. She is a nice little cross ewe lamb with a lovely hair coat. Her mum is Spotty and her Dad is Buster. Her mum is raising her brother and we are raising her. She also chilled a bit.
Here is an updated picture of our little Win D Acres Mascot! Buddy showing off his halter breaking and his big "W". He is a little cross lamb. His Mum is Lucy and his Dad is Buster. He thinks Cassandra is his mum as she has been bottle feeding him. He chilled badly at birth and had to be in the house. His mum then rejected him but raised his sister just fine. He is a little fluffy... (okay chubby) for a bottle baby.

43 (Rosie) and her big boy Humongous Harry

An updated photo of Humongous Harry and his proud Momma Rosie (43). He is one big boy!

Odo ( WIN 12X )

This is Odo WIN 12X wearing his harness. He has been turned out with 4 lovely ladies for fall lambs. He is a lovely ram and very easy going. He has just started to shed out in these photos.

Mammoth and Twins

This is a picture of Mammoth and her twins. The twins were just very little here as they were only a few days old. She gave us a lovely ewe lamb and a ram lamb. Good job Mammoth.

I am just so cute!

Am I cute or what. I just know you are looking at Me! Me Me Me... it is all about ME!

Bambi

This is little Bambi, She is a triplet out of 304T. Momma had a hard time and needed some assistance as the little ones were a bit tangled up. It took a lot of work to get this girl going but she is doing fine now. She was 9lbs at birth and has two wonderful sisters. Little Bambino is a bottle baby as she had to come in the house long enough that Mum rejected her. She had a little fluid on her back due to the difficult birth. These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago. She has grown since and the lump on her back is gone. She is really looking good.

Got Your Nose!

This is what happens when you hold a hungry lamb :)

Jade and her girls

Jade (51W) and her lovely set of twin ewe lambs. Jade actually had triplets this year but unfortunately we lost the third ewe lamb as we thought she was done and no one was in attendance. Jade surprised us all when she buried her third born. As Jade is an excellent mum our best guess is that the little one was stillborn as it was buried with the afterbirth wrapped around it. Hard lesson for us on not having a clue when a third is on the way. Jade did not look over large and had produced one 9.5 and one 8.5 lbs ewe lambs. We did not believe there was a third hiding in her with those birth weights.

Introducing Ebony!! 84Y

This little girl earned a place in our flock from the moment of her arrival. We just can't help but keep a pure black sheep ewe! I have looked her all over and not found a white hair yet. Proud mum is 29U and she has her hands.. ah better make that hooves, full with the lovely set of triplets she gave us. Ebony shares her mums attention with her 2 brothers. Ebony weighed in at 9 lbs with her brothers at 7 lbs and 7.5 lbs. Way to go 29U!!!

How many lambs fit ...

Hay feeder or lamb toy? These little ones think it is both!

Grain Feeders are for.......

Well besides grain feeding... lets see... hmmm.. How about Lamb Toys!!!

WIN 83Y Dorper Ram Lamb

This little guy has it all so far. It will be interesting to see how he matures. He has a lovely hair coat, good sturdy legs and feet, nice body length. Born weighing  12 lbs he is a twin. Both his parents are registered so little guy can be too. His drooping ear is caused by his new tag.

Tiny TimBit

Then along came... the other end of the scale. Our tiny little TimBit! Born out of a set of triplets this is the smallest little lamb we have had so far this year. TimBit was only 5 lbs at birth. He is a bottle lamb and you will see more pictures of him in the future when I post bottle baby pictures. He had a bit of scours but is all better now. His eating mechanism only has an ON switch.

Humongous Harry!

First there was Incredible Hanna at 14.5 lbs ... then along came Humongous Harry. 43 just had to beat that weight with her lamb. Humongous Harry arrived with an incredible weight of 15 lbs!! No small wonder he was a single lamb.

The Incredible Hanna! 14.5 lbs at birth

There is not much little about this girl. The Incredible Hanna weighed in at a hefty 14.5 lbs at birth. We looked at her and were reminded immediately of another Incredible lamb born to friends of ours last year. Avery's Katahdins had the birth of the Incredible Hank (also a 14 lb lamb). I had not made any coats big enough for a 14.5 lb lamb and had to make one just for her. While she looks fully Dorper she is a mix. Her mum is 75% Dorper and 25% Katahdin. Her Dad is a registered Dorper Ram.

A Win D Acres Mascot in the making??

W is for  Win D Acres ... I think this little fellow wants to be the Win D Acres mascot!
